Cortex Dating Ltd, a company based in Kenya, operates Cortex and is responsible for your data (the data controller).

We follow the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019. We may update this policy from time to time and will show the date of the latest version here.

• Live camera frames (assessment, Arena and photo alignment): checked on your own device to confirm one face is present. They are not uploaded, recorded or stored.
• Microphone during assessments: checked on your device for speaking. Not recorded or stored.
• Gallery photos: stored until you delete them, or until your account is permanently removed.
• Assessment answers and scores: kept while your account exists so your results and history work.
• Location: your recent position is stored to calculate distances. It is kept while your account is active and removed with your account.
• Chat messages: kept while your account exists so conversations work. Hidden from the other person as soon as you delete your account.
• Account details (name, email, phone, date of birth, gender): kept while your account exists.
• Payment records (amount, date, plan, payment reference): kept for 5 years for tax and accounting. Card and mobile-money details are handled by the payment provider and never reach Cortex.
• Abuse reports, and the messages attached to them: kept for 90 days after your account is deleted, then removed.

Your data is stored on secure cloud servers run by our hosting provider. These servers may be located outside Kenya, including in the European Union or United States. Data is encrypted in transit, and access is restricted at the database level.

• Hosting, database and file storage: Lovable Cloud (infrastructure on Cloudflare and Amazon Web Services).
• Email delivery (sign-up codes and notifications): Lovable, sent from notify.cortexdating.com.
• Payments: Paystack (cards, M-Pesa and other local methods).
• Text-message (SMS) codes: not used. All verification codes are sent by email.
• Maps and distance: distances are calculated by Cortex from stored coordinates. No outside maps company receives your location.

These providers handle data only to deliver their service to us.

Other members see your first name, age, scores, dimension results and an approximate distance such as "17 km away".

They never see your exact location, email address or phone number unless you agree to a contact exchange. Your photos remain private until gallery access is mutually approved.

• to run consent steps for galleries, chat and contact exchange;
• to send sign-up codes and notifications;
• to investigate reports and keep members safe;
• to process optional payments for retakes and Arena tokens.

We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use your photos for marketing.

Go to Profile → Delete account.

• Immediately: your profile, photos, scores and matches disappear from other members' view, any active connection ends, and your chats are closed.
• For 30 days: your account is paused. Sign in again within 30 days to restore it.
• After 30 days: your login, profile, photos, assessment answers, scores, location, matches and messages are permanently erased.
• We keep only: payment records (5 years, legal requirement) and abuse reports involving you (90 days).

You can also email support@cortexdating.com to request a copy, correction or deletion of your data. We reply within 30 days.

Cortex is not for anyone under 18. Accounts found to belong to minors are removed.
