Why Cortex

Why Cortex?

Most dating platforms lead with appearance. Cortex begins somewhere different. It starts with how two people think.

Mind Before Appearance

Cortex does not show profile photographs during initial discovery.

The first decision is based on cognitive compatibility rather than physical appearance.

The question is not:

“Do I like how this person looks?”

It is:

“Am I intellectually interested enough to know this person?”

One Connection at a Time

Cortex is intentionally designed without multiple simultaneous dating connections.

When two people mutually connect, both are removed from the matching pool until that connection is resolved.

The purpose is simple:

Give one connection your attention before looking for another.

Progressive Mutual Consent

Cortex does not treat one person's interest as permission to move forward.

Each major stage requires mutual agreement.

The progression is:

Cognitive Profile → Mutual Interest → Private Gallery → Chat → Contact Exchange

Access becomes more personal only when both people agree.

Conversation Matters Again

Traditional dating profiles often reveal so much information that the conversation begins after most basic discovery has already happened.

Cortex deliberately avoids this.

You do not initially see someone's:

  • hobbies;
  • occupation;
  • favourite music;
  • lifestyle;
  • personal biography;
  • social-media history.

If you want to know them, you ask them.

Practical Proximity

You choose your search distance each time you open Discover, in kilometres or miles. There is no fixed limit.

The purpose is to make potential real-world meetings more practical in terms of:

  • travel time;
  • transport costs;
  • convenience;
  • accessibility.

A Fresh Cognitive Profile Every Month

Cognitive Profiles are not permanent.

A new assessment becomes available on the first day of every month.

Completing the monthly assessment automatically refreshes your active Cognitive Profile Card.

The assessment month and year are always displayed.

Privacy by Design

Cortex does not publicly expose:

  • private photographs;
  • exact location;
  • phone numbers;
  • email addresses;
  • detailed personal profiles.

Private information becomes available progressively and only with mutual consent.

Cortex Is Built for Intentional Connection

Cortex is designed for people who would rather explore one connection properly than browse hundreds superficially.

Meet the mind first. Discover the person through conversation.
